Just a thought, how hardcore will this game be? I would think it would be quite a challenge but that would not be so good for the sales of the game. And, I can’t see it having a ‘difficulty’ switch. Or perhaps it will.

Will Wright said that the game difficulty will scale with how well you play. If you are a good, expect the gaming experience to be bit more demanding compared to a causal, less skilled gamer.
At least that is what he said... Perhaps the live game will have both.
