I think the space part of the game is actually a game in itself. It’s as though the whole idea was to have a space game with the rest as a tutorial. Except the tutorial has become the biggest part and the most celebrated and extensive part of the game. So in essence the space game is not the end of the game.
Especially coming from Will Wright, think Sim City or Sims. There is no real end game if you just to continue playing, you just get more uber. The game does not have to catch-up with you because it sources the content from other players. So as long as there are people playing it and you do not want to try a different path at evolution there may be no end game. I think.
I think, I hear you do not nesserally have to move from one part of the game to the other if you do not want to. Maybe I am wrong but the egg thing can just mean you can go in to creature evolution screen and change things around with point you have accumulated, or something like that.
